Aïgo (아이고)
is a Korean expression used to convey different emotions depending on the context.
I discovered ceramic at a time when i longed for a way to explore my creativity, to give life to ideas and thoughts.
As a former professional dancer, i was searching for a new medium to express what was on my mind.
I came across clay, its endless possibilities, and it clicked.
At the beginning, each time i showed a piece to my twin sister, who i'm very close with, she would exclaim, "Aïgo!" in the sweetest way.
It meant she saw beauty in it, or at least in the process of creating it, even if the piece itself wasn’t quite there yet.
I loved it.
Aïgo (아이고) is a word we use spontaneously when an emotion needs to come out.
Joy, surprise, curiosity, happiness...
I hope my work makes you feel something that resonates, something that speaks to you, just as this word speaks to me.
